Camp guests choose from water sports and athletics, media and arts, leadership and team building programs. Muskoka Woods operates all year round on Lake Rosseau as a non-profit youth organization. Our skilled staff are selected for their trustworthy character, ability with children and love for their Creator.  Chris Evans Chris Evans is the Executive Director of Muskoka Woods. Chris assumed this role in 2006 with a mandate for sustainable and holistic growth. Prior to taking on this position Chris was responsible for overseeing the operations of the summer camp Strategic Business Unit. Chris has a Bachelor of Commerce in Hotel and Food Management from the University of Guelph and is currently set to begin an Executive MBA through the Cornell – Queens EMBA program. Chris Tompkins Chris Tompkins is the Managing Ministry Director of Muskoka Woods. Before coming to Muskoka Woods, Chris received his under graduate degree from the University of Guelph, followed by a Teacher’s college degree at the University of Toronto. A love of working with youth led Chris to Good Shepherd Community Church in Scarborough, Ontario, where he spent 7 years as a Youth Worker. Currently, Chris oversees a full-time team where he leads 300 high school and college aged staff each summer. His experience and acknowledged expertise with this generation’s young people has led to an increasing demand for him to speak to both teens and adult youth workers. Chris resides in Stouffville, Ontario with his wife and three year old daughter. Ron Peneycad Ron Peneycad is the Chief Financial Officer of Muskoka Woods. His journey at Muskoka Woods began in 1986 as a summer Senior High Counselor, followed by summers as a Section Head and Business Administrator. He has been part of Muskoka Woods for over 24 years, 21 of those in his current role. Ron has degrees in Finance from the University of Toronto and in Theology from Tyndale Seminary. Married to Pauline with three active, camp-age children, Ron is passionate about camp and the positive impact it can have on children and teenagers, including his own. Ron is active in his church in music and serves as President of its Condominium Board. He also enjoys travelling, playing tennis and squash, reading and spending time with his family. Iain Lovatt Iain Lovatt is the Director of Marketing at Muskoka Woods, bringing to the table over 20 years of experience in the development of youth and business management. He began his career leading Young Life Langley and transitioned into full-time church ministry as Team Leader of The Well, an innovative Youth Church in Langley B.C. In 2000, Iain co-founded a number of technology companies that focused on youth marketing, Internet radio and entertainment. In 2002, Iain returned to his roots and joined the management team at Muskoka Woods. Iain’s experience over the years has given him an in-depth understanding of youth culture, how to connect with youth and the power of the Internet. In his spare time, Iain enjoys writing and performing music, yoga, developing Apps for his iPod and dreaming about how to make life better! Iain lives in Stouffville Ontario with his wife of 16 years and 3 totally awesome kids! Leslie Brushett Leslie Brushett, Director of Human Resources, has been with Muskoka Woods since she was 12 years old! Leslie has a degree in Psychology from the University of Western Ontario, a Certificate in Human Resources from Seneca College and is a recent graduate of the Arrow Leadership Program. Leslie attended Muskoka Woods for 5 years as a guest, joining the summer staff when she was 17. She has now worked full-time with the Woods since 1995. Spending her summers at MW has been a highlight in her life and she sees the opportunity to serve the summer guests and staff from year to year a privilege. Leslie is pictured here with her husband Scott and 3 children. Brian McAuley Brian McAuley is the Executive Director of the Muskoka Woods Youth Foundation. Prior to joining Muskoka Woods, Brian spent over 17 years in the corporate world, 12 of those as a Sales and Marketing Executive with the IBM Corporation. He also held leadership roles in both the telecommunications and finance industries. Brian was first introduced to Muskoka Woods in 1982 as a guest and later joined the summer staff team in 1985. His role as Executive Director gives him the challenge to raise funds to invest in today’s youth and further the mission and growth of Muskoka Woods for years to come. Brian is married with 3 boys and the author of "The Family Gold Plate - Lives Transformed Through Simple Words". Tim Duffield Tim Duffield BRE, is the Director of Risk Management at Muskoka Woods. Tim has worked in full time camping for 30 years, 18 of those years at Muskoka Woods. He brings a background in forestry, turf management, operations, restaurant management, and pyrotechnics. He loves to sail, snowshoe and build sets for the creative programs our staff create. Ellen Duffield Ellen Duffield BRE, BES is the Project Leader for the new Leadership Studio at Muskoka Woods. She is passionate about equipping emerging leaders and is currently working on a Masters of Organizational Leadership. Ellen and Tim have two grown children and a beautiful granddaughter. |
