At Muskoka Woods, our hope and desire is to inspire youth to shape their world. We believe in extending past the borders of our communities and that sharing our lives and experiences with others can impact not only those we encounter and serve, but also ourselves. We want to give our CEO alumni the challenge, experience and opportunity to serve others in an impactful way.

In March 2009, Muskoka Woods took 9 CEO alumni to New Orleans. The CEOs worked alongside YWAM workers, who seek to help build homes, restore communities and bring hope to the people of New Orleans. Youth with a Mission (YWAM) has been in New Orleans since 1982. Relief efforts and rebuilding projects continue to progress in the aftermath of the devastating hurricanes that have impacted the families of this city.

The CEO’s had the opportunity to gut a home, run a program at a Kids Club, aid in yard clean up and provide a church service for the youth detention center. The CEO’s were able to take on a new challenge, gain memorable experiences and seize an opportunity to help shape their world.

QUOTES:

"The CEO Serve Team trip to New Orleans was an incredible experience. It encompassed all that CEO stands for; challenge, experience, and opportunity. All the activities organized for us really helped me grow both within myself and with God. This is a great trip for anyone who wants to step outside of themselves and try something completely different. This trip exceeded any and all the expectations that I had."

Callia Garwood

"This trip was one of the most exciting experiences of my life. I learned so many things about the city, the people, and myself. I felt so privileged to have the chance to do the things we did. I recommend this trip to anyone who wants to gain life-long friendships and experience the amazing feeling you get from helping people who need and appreciate it. I know will never forget this trip."
